“First an Allied demand for an immediate unconditional surrender was made to the leadership in Japan.” The demand stated that if they refused it would result in total destruction, but no mention of any new powerful weapons were made. “The Japanese military command rejected the request for unconditional surrender, but there were indications that a conditional surrender was possible.” On August 6th, 1945 the Enola Gay dropped little boy on the city of Hiroshima which instantly vaporized 70,000 Japanese and later killed another 100,000 from burns and radiation. Then two days later on August 9th Fat Man was dropped on Nagasaki which killed another 80,000 people. Three days after that on August 14th, 1945 the Japanese surrendered.
